“American Pictures” is the first music I’ve written since I was a long-haired kid in Hollywood struggling to get a record deal. The album’s about the malfunction of the American dream, as experienced by uniquely American characters caught between their potential and their circumstances. It’s folk, front porch music—simple melodies with dulcimer, fiddle, banjo, mandolin, and guitar. I hope you enjoy what we’ve created.
